Morimoto Lab
Our research focuses on the design and control of flexible and soft robots for unstructured, unknown environments. We aim to develop safer, more dexterous robots and intuitive human-in-the-loop control interfaces that enable access, exploration, and manipulation. We are particularly interested in:
Surgical robotics
Soft robotics
Haptics
We are part of the Controls and Dynamics and the Biomechanics and Medical Devices Groups in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. We are also part of the Contextual Robotics Institute at UC San Diego.Â
